Welcome to my blog!

I'm Lori and I love to craft. I cross stitch, knit and crochet and anything else that takes my fancy! I love to make amigurumi and other knitted and crocheted characters.
I live in the north east of England and when I'm not busy with thread or wool I love to read thrillers and watch things on the TV that make me laugh. I have a love of tattoos too and have quite a collection!

Finished bunting and the travelling craft box goodies!

Hello everyone and welcome to my new followers :-)

Been a busy week this week as my boyfriend was off work on holiday so my routine was thrown right off! Tried to keep organised and make time to get things made but it can be a bit tricky when you're also trying to get taken out and spoilt too :-)

The travelling craft box is now with Kayla so I can now show what I made for the box and what goodies I kept too!

These are the gorgeous things I kept...

The gorgeous biscornu box charm (which is on my bag now), lovely bookmark and button heart by Kerry and the pretty pincushion and ami heart and monster by Laura All lovely treasures that were tough to choose from the box of loveliness :-)

To replace them I added these....

a cute baby octopus ami, felt heart, crochet flower brooch, stitched bookmark, 3D birdhouse and cupcake keyring. Can't wait for the box to come back my way again :-)

I finished off the mushroom bunting too for my stall, that was fun to make! I made each mushroom with different embroidery details of flowers, bushes, butterflies and flags. I think this will look pretty hanging on the front of the stall.

I got my ami today from the monthly swap that I do with the lovely Steph but she doesn't have mine yet as I'm posting tomorrow so in the next post at the weekend I'll be showing them :-)

Lots to get done this week then, busy stitching an Easter cake band for an order and I have a lot of small things planned too for the next fair in a couple of weeks so I have lists to wade through!

Oh if you haven't already entered my giveaway you have until Sunday, see the previous post!

It's time for my giveaway...... GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED

Yoohoo!

I'm back with the prizes finished and ready for my first blogiversary giveaway :-)  So without further ado, tada!!

I was playing around with a new idea for mushrooms at the weekend and loved how flat embroidered ones work for hanging decorations so I'll be making more of these to put in my shop. I am giving the first two I made in my giveaway along with an adorable amigurumi owl and a pretty pink heart keyring too. Here's the mushrooms front and back close up,

While making these I had the idea of making a string of them as bunting and adding the letters of 'HIPPYWITCH' on the roofs instead of spots to put along the front of my stall at fayres :-) I'm halfway through the embroidery on them and them just need to put the fronts and backs together and it's done, look pretty good and I'm loving making more mushrooms!

I seem to have a 'thing' for mushroom cottages and I think (in my best psychologist mode) I know why. When I was little I had a plastic Smurf House that was a mushroom cottage and I adored it!! Then when I was 11 my little sister was born and a couple of years later my Mam gave her the Smurf House as I was 'too grown up for it'. Little sis trashed it and covered it in felt tip pen.........I've just about forgiven her now twenty seven years later, lol!

So to enter the giveaway my usual rules apply, be a follower and leave a comment on this post, I hate rules so that's it :-) The winner will be drawn by the boyfriend out of a hat (or bowl actually) on Sunday the 4th March, good luck everyone!

Speaking of giveaways the wonderful Millefeuilles is having a gorgeous giveaway over one her blog HERE Make sure to drop in and enter that too :-)

I have made a few things this last week that I can't as yet post about so next time I promise to show you the items made for the Travelling Craft Box and also the goodies I've taken out for myself as it will be posted on it's way again on Friday!

So I hope you all have a wonderful week, see you at the weekend!

Lots of lovely post :-)

Hi everyone!

Wonderful post week this week for me :-) Firstly a surprise parcel from the lovely Steph, she sent me a super cute little choco chunk  with a cute pocket that has a little heart keyring , isn't that adorable!

There was other goodies like gorgeous pink beads, some lovely incense sticks and shells from the beach as well as lovely charms. A gorgoeus  parcel, I love everything :-)

Yesterday I got another parcel! This was a swap I did with  Cara over at the Dotty One blog. She sent me two gorgeous fused glass necklaces, I've pinched these photos off her blog as the weather has been so dark here mine were just rubbish! Hope you don't mind!

They were in this gorgeous little pretty bag,

Also this gorgeous little cat ami, now you must know I love cats :-)

and I was thrilled to get one of her fabulous felt strawberries!! I love these so much!!!

So I had sent a starfish, crab and baby octopus as I knew she loves the sea and diving,

a cross stitched ornament,

and a cow card as well as she likes cows :-)

A fabulous swap!! Thanks so much to Cara, love everything you sent me and it made me very smiley :-)

Today was the third good post day of the week as the Travelling Craft box arrived, YIPPEE!!  This has been started by Laura and I received it from Kerry today. The idea is it's a box of handmade lovely stuff and you get to take as many items as you like from the box as long as you put the same number of items made by yourself back in, simple. Well it's a lovely box of pretty things and this will be tough to pick, I think I have decided on six things but that may change before I send it on it's way in a couple of weeks! I have a couple of things left to make for it, it's a great idea :-)

Here's the box when I opened it

I'm not allowed to show you what I make for it until it arrives at it's next stop with Kayla and then I'll show what I'm keeping too.

Oh yes, and this was the box ten seconds later.......

Poppy can't pass a box without getting in it! She jumped in checked it out and picked her choice from the box before I got to! The ami heart made by Laura has been carted around the house, loved to bits and totally claimed by her so that's one of my choices, lol!

Hope everyone has a great week!

My first craft fayre

Hello!! Welcome to my new followers, lovely to meet you :-)

So sorry I've been missing for over a week! I was contacted last Monday morning to be offered a stall at a local fayre called the Makers Market on Sunday, which left me six days to get ready! I never stopped all week, making, pricing, organising and getting sorted.

So the fayre was good, weather wasn't great, no snow here but freezing cold and lots of frost all day which I think put off buyers unfortunately as it was fairly quiet. It was at the beach so being freezing I can see why it was quiet, I mean the last thing you think on a really cold day is lets go to the beach :-) According to the other stall holders it was busier in January! Oh yes and the heating was broken so I was completely frozen at the end of the day! However I almost made the cost of my table back and enjoyed it a lot so I booked in for next month before I left. Also found out about two more possible fayres later in the year and gave my business out to a lot of people so it seems promising. Now I've dipped a toe in the water I found I enjoyed it! I have some ideas for new small items that I can sell for a couple of pounds to tempt people in.....

Here's some pics of the stall set up,

I discovered that a mug tree is great for displaying key rings and a cake stand is wonderful for brooches too, lol!!

I made a couple of new houses last week too, this is Gerbera Cottage with lots of pretty coloured flowers around the door.

This is Rosebud Cottage with pink rose bushes either side of the door.

I like how these ones turned out :-) They'll be listed this week in my shop. I have a couple more cut out ready to make this week, they are so much fun!

It was my Mam's birthday this week too so here is the card I made for her, it was a free kit from Card Shop magazine and looks great stitched.

Other stuff I've made this week I can't show yet as it's for a swap so I have to keep it quiet for now :-)

So that's my mad week, this week should be more normal, if there is such a thing!
